The new barbie in town

Hey everyone! I haven't been blogging alot for the last couple of weeks but I'm planning to have a big comeback and hope to be blogging alot again. I have been really busy with school because exams are coming up, luckily I have just one little month to go and I'll be having summer vacation!
Although I've been really busy with all kinds of stuff I am in a really great place in my life right now. Things are working out, future plans are actually being planned. I'm just enjoying everything right now, some of my friends are going through some rough patches right now and this really made me realize how lucky I am. People should really enjoy the little things in life more often. Just stop for a second and realize the happiness around you, focus on the positive and eliminate the negative. I think this hapiness is really reflecting on my outfits, I hope you like it!

Touch of suede

The past couple of days I have been quite under the weather as I got ill in my holiday to Austria. I went there to go snowboarding but I got to board for only 3 hours and spent the rest of my holiday in bed. Now as I got better, I am enjoying the small improvement in the weather as winter is slowly turning into spring and summer is getting closer and closer!
The outfit I'm wearing is still a cold coloured winter outfit, but as I was endulging myself in neon's and brights -which I believe will be all around us coming seasons- in a shop yesterday  I could really feel summer again and look forward to sun and happiness. I hope that soon, very very soon, we can show off our shorts and bikini's again!

Bright in snowlight

Hello there! It looks like a winter wonderland in The Netherlands.. Again! It has been snowing, melting, snowing, melting and snowing for alot of weeks now. -too many if you ask me!- I like the snow at first, but if it stays for over 3 weeks.. that's enough if you ask me. I got the urge to wear heels a few weeks ago and it's been quite the challenge, I hope that in a few weeks I can wear them again without being afraid of ruining them or falling flat on my face! Haha.

Shopping in contrasts

Yesterday I went to Amsterdam with a friend of mine to do some shopping which I love! The feeling when you get home and get to unpack all the things and put them in your closet, give them their own little place where you can admire them, I love it. Now, this may seem a little crazy but I just can't explain the feeling of happiness that comes over me after a good shoppingspree!

Studs and knit

Today it's all about the studs bra! I just bought this bra which I am quite fascinated by. I got it in Amsterdam in this little vintage shop and have been thinking how to wear it ever since. Today I made up my mind and put it on, hope you like the combination, tell me what you think about it!

Thinking about Missoni

 

Missoni, owned by three siblings, is well known for the zigzag prints that are just timeless in every way and got great succes with that trademark, sadly the Missoni family hasn't been all rainbows and sunshine the past two weeks. The brother of the three siblings went missing! When travelling by plane Vittorio Missoni disappeared off the radar at the coast of Venezuela. He was travelling with his wife, another couple and two Venezuelan crew members and there have been numerous of rescue actions to find them, but all of them failed.

Now ofcourse are all of my thoughts with the family, it must be so difficult to just not know. Today Missoni is part of my outfit because Missoni has been in my head constantly since I heard this tragic news.

Dazzling in 2013

As well as all girls know, a new start means a new opportunity. Many think of new years as a way to start over, make resolutions; eat healthier, exercise more, stop with whatever addiction you might have.. -CHOCOLATE!- I like to think that if something has to change, change it! Create your own new start. Don't make promises to yourself of which you know you won't follow up to. It makes me more content with myself and I like being happy with who I am at every moment of the year!

Hermès me under the mistletoe

The second christmas outfit I wore was more red, as it is christmas and couldn't pass going anywhere without showing a little red.
The Hermès scarf around my middle is the one I got at the By Danie vintage sale. Throughout the evening I managed to get a big spot on it from letting some oil dripping food fall on my lap! How I was in horror. Lucky for me I know the trick to get those nasty stains out of your silk ladies! A lot of talcum powder drazzled all over it and let it sit for a while -say one night- absorbes it all out of there. -happy me-
The red from my Lancaster red lipstick really matched the red in the scarf and aslo the red in the Azoal bracelets I was wearing -Which you can get at Pracht in Utrecht or Charm in Zeist as far as I know dutchies-

Green trees and red noses

Although I'm a bit late, HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
I hope all of you had a great christmas, I know I did!
I spent christmas with my family, the first day of christmas I was at my mom's. As it was christmas, i finally -FINALLYYYYYYYY!- had an opportunity to wear my Ted Baker dress. I have been looking forward to a moment where I could wear that dress, as I love it to death.
The heels are from Marc Ellis, I got them in a little store while visiting Paris last summer on one of my annual  trips with my best friend. I've been keeping those in the back of my closet for a while too, as I didn't go to any parties that were shoe proof -aka being able to go without ruining them- so finally I got the opportunity to wear some of my beloved items.
Also the blazer is a good oldie, my favorite Patricia Pepe that fits like a gem! I would wear it everyday if there weren't that many other fabulous fashion items out there!

Feeling the pre-mood

Christmas is almost here, and we will all be able to celebrate it since we didn't die yesterday! -reason to party even harder coming weeks!-
Now every year it's the same with me, I am feeling the christmas mood weeks before the trees are up and full of lights. Every now and then that's also shown in my clothes, a good ol' green and red is never wrong this time of the year! Coming days I'll probably be partying or sitting at home and watching each and every christmas movie ever made. I just love the whole feeling to it; Together with family and friends, infront of the fire place with a cup of hot coco, the whole house decorated with little lights, mini winter villages, train sets and ofcourse the christmas tree! YES to it all!

18+ only

Hi everyone! It has been a busy month, that's why I haven't been posting that much. One of the things that kept me busy was my birthday, November 26th I turned 18! Turning 18 in Holland means you're officially an adult, but to be honest, I really do not feel like one!

My friend (that turned 18, November 15th) and I have been thinking about the things that we are legally allowed to do now, some things that we came up with are: Buy drinks with an higher alcohol level, go to a 'coffeeshop', go to the casino, vote, go to the kamasutra fair -haha-, drive a car and go to 18+ clubs.
Now, most things in the list we already did anyways and the others we didn't care that much about. So, what changed? Not that much really. Only the driving a car bit, that's something that I'm looking forward to on doing, it helps me escape my small town life a little bit more!
This sunday I celebrated my birthday with my family and close friends, the pictures below were taken on sunday and on monday which was really my birthday.

Sheepingly suprising

I'm guessing that you've all seen the movie 'The devil wears Prada' and there's a scene in which Andy -played by Anne Hathaway- wears a really similair outfit to mine on these pictures. The biggest coincidence, I was wearing this outfit inspired on her look and the same evening I see the movie is on tv! Must be faith right? Haha.

Meet 'n greet

I recently was lucky enough to have a meet 'n greet with the dutch band bløf through one of the events on my mothers work. I went there with a friend of mine. During their performance it was wasn't sure yet but just before the end we were told that we could go backstage and meet them. I am -to be honest- not their biggest fan, but I do think that they have really amazing and touching songs. They mostly sing in dutch so for the non-dutchies I will try to find an english song, or at least as much english as possible so you can hear what they're all about! On stage the energy is everywhere, it's a real show and a blast to watch! I had a lot of fun meeting them and had some nice convo's. :)

Urban Jungle

 Hi there! This is an outfit I wore today, it's a little bit jungle inspired, and since I don't live in a jungle a cornfield will do! I am wearing my good ol' black leather jacket, a go to every girl with a black leather jacket will understand. I'm wearing one of my red repeat sweaters, black supertrash jeans, black prada sneakers, a leopard print scarf and I am also carrying along my mom's old and precious Louis Vuitton bag!

I will write this post about online shopping, I've been online shopping for a few years now and I am drugged! The shops I mostly shop from are asos.com welikefashion.com zara.com forever21.com ... The easy thing about online shopping is that you can just order anything you like and send back the things you don't like or that don't fit well. Paypall is the best and safest method to pay with, you have the possibility to get insurance on the boxes or pay for the  items at home.

Rock it fashion style!

Missoni, Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Zoe Karssen, and it keeps on going! The real fashion loving Dutchies were spotted at The Harbour Club Amsterdam where Danie from ByDanie organised a big vintage sale (at least 70% off!). You had to pay €3,50 to get in and at the end of the day that money would be doubled and donated to the 'Make a Wish' foundation!
I was there with a friend of mine where I scored a hermes scarf, which is my new love! Here you can see me before making pictures, totally loving it.
I am sure there will soon be an outfit rocking my hermes scarf, but for now, these are the pictures we took that day!

Autumn lovers

 Hey you guys! Autumn is starting, leaves are falling, trees are turning yellow, how I love the look of autumn! It is the season in which I was born so that might contribute to the feelings I get when it's autumn. The cosy hot chocolate in front of the fireplace, i like that.
And just now Ted Baker enlarged my autumn feelings by about a 10871%! If that is in fact possible.. This new coat I bought is my ultimate love. I've been getting tons of compliments about it and are more than happy with it! One more reason why I love autumn, I can wear my lovely red Ted Baker coat :)
I felt more mature in it some way, maybe because of the longer model, someone said to me I looked 22 with the coat on. That's 5 years more than I am now, and secretly it felt amazing!

Guns 'n Josh V

Hey you guys! I'm writing you because I wanted to show you a casual outfit I wore the other day. School has started a while ago and I guess all of us sometimes have one of those days where you just want to stay in your PJ's and go to school. Too bad we'd all look like freaks! This was one of those days for me, I threw on my fav Supertrash ripped jeans, some simple black sneakers and a cosy red sweater. The sweater is from repeat and has a drapy neckline. Just to finish it of and keep me warm outside I put on this grey suede Josh V jacket. A nice and simple outfit!
Josh Veldhuizen is a new and upcoming dutch designer and model. Dutch girls might know her from the tv show 'modemeisjes' (Fashiongirls). This jacket is from the 'Musthave' collection and this november her new collection 'Paparazzi' is available in stores! With the signature gun sign on her clothes it's a renewing and edgy brand, I love it! Below you can see the back of the jacket. The gold and grey combination was something I had to get used to at first but I ended up liking it really much!
